A Literature Review on Work Family Balance among Married and Childbearing Female Teachers in Chinese Universities
This literature review discusses the current situation and ways in which married and childbearing female teachers in Chinese universities balance work and family. Due to the increasing number of women entering the workforce, people are paying more attention to the issues of work and family, as well as the concept of how to balance these two fields. Although multiple studies have explored the issue of work family balance for female practitioners, the results of these studies cannot be directly applied to married and childbearing female teachers in Chinese universities. Because female practitioners from different countries, regions, and professions face vastly different work family issues. Now, it is necessary to specifically analyze the issue of work family balance among married and childbearing female teachers in Chinese universities. The results show that married and childbearing female teachers in Chinese universities not only face numerous obstacles in their work, but also need to cope with various challenges in their families, as they shoulder dual careers. Adopting flexible work schedules, support from colleagues/superiors, and government coordination and promotion can alleviate the pressure brought by their dual identities.
